The European Central Bank (ECB) has selected five companies to be involved in a “prototyping exercise” that will be part of its two-year investigation phase into a digital euro, a central bank digital currency (CBDC) that could be used as an alternative to cash.


Hero Cosmetics, an acne care brand born on Amazon, was acquired for $630 million this week. Hero launched on Amazon in 2017 with one SKU that has since become the No. 1 beauty product on Amazon.


There’s a large online marketplace for the selling and buying of fake online reviews. Fake online reviews do contribute to better ratings and sales for product sellers. Most major brands do not engage in the practice of buying fake reviews.


We’re referring, of course, to the announcement of two new value-added services to add benefits for delivery service partners (DSPs), including a boost in pay and new benefits programs. Those programs include a 401(k) program that helps small business owners match employee contributions.


California is suing Amazon, accusing the company of violating the state’s antitrust and unfair competition laws by stifling competition and engaging in practices that push sellers to maintain higher prices on products on other sites.


DTC brands can now buy ads on Amazon that will drive traffic to the brand’s website. The customer journey is convoluted but hints at Amazon’s bigger ambitions to become a discovery platform for DTC brands.


The first investigation relates to Amazon’s use of non-public seller data. The second has to do with the way the Amazon Prime service and the Offer Display (previously known as the Buy Box) feature favor Amazon’s own retail business, as well as marketplace sellers that use Amazon’s logistics and delivery services.


The CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, Doug Herrington, opened the second day of Amazon’s seller conference ‘Amazon Accelerate’ by praising the 2 million “selling partners” on the company’s platform for their contributions to its store and their service to its customers.


Amazon now has over 2,500 apps in its Selling Partner Appstore, formerly called the Amazon Seller Central Partner Network, and it has verified the apps, which are provided by third-party developers across 20 countries.


With its investments in logistics, discounted shipping rates, free shipping software and other benefits for sellers, Amazon is taking package volume away from competitors like FedEx, Yahoo Finance reported Friday (Sept. 16), citing a J.P. Morgan note to clients.


Targeted advertising campaigns, selling a diverse range of products and never running out of stock are some of the strategies used by Kirk Laing (name changed upon request) to achieve more than $4.7 million in sales in just six months on online giant Amazon.


Amazon has made a string of startup acquisitions over the years to build out its robotics business; now, the e-commerce leviathan is taking an interesting turn in that strategy as it expands its industrial warehouse capabilities.
